About Us

The Fisherman's Cot, nestling on the banks of the River Exe at Bickleigh, is one of the most picturesque traditional inns in the south of England. It's superb location makes it an all-year-round choice for locals and visitors alike, situated between the city of Exeter and the old market town of Tiverton. The hotel boasts beautiful gardens and areas where customers can enjoy the stunning river setting. There is plenty of free parking available for hotel guests. We serve restaurant food all day from our bespoke menu created by our chef using local ingredients, or alternatively you can enjoy a glass of wine or pint of real ale and relax in our beautiful pub. The Fisherman's Cot has a function room which can be used for meetings or evening events and the hotel also caters for weddings. Hotel accommodation prices include our fantastic free breakfast.

    Made with delicious crab claw meat served with a slice of crust brown bread.
  • Mushroom Shroomies (V)

    Breaded slices of flat mushrooms deep-fried and served with garlic mayonnaise.
  • 'Old Fashioned' Bangers and Mash

    Locally produced in Tiverton from Gloucester Old Spot pigs. Served on buttered mash with red onion and wine gravy.
  • The "Cot" Gourmet Burger

    Our generous 8oz beefburger topped with cornish yarg cheese and smoked bacon, served in a large american style bun with lettuce, tomato, golden chips and bbq sauce
  • Thai Red Fish Curry

    An authentic Thai curry made with creamy coconut milk, served with rice and coriander garnish.
  • 8oz Sirloin Steak

    Chargrilled to your liking and served with golden chips, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and peas.
  • Devonshire Cream Teas

    Two scones from the West Exe Bakery, Devon clotted cream and strawberry jam from Kia Ora Gardens, Cullompton with a pot of tea.
  • Chocolate Melting Cake

    A rich chocolate pudding with a melting heart served with Devon clotted cream......divinely naughty.
